Privacy Policy
Last updated 13 October 2026
Gridmark is built to know as little about you as it can. There are no accounts, no cookies and no advertising, and the marks you design stay in your browser. This page sets out the little that is collected, and who else is involved when you use the site or buy the brand kit.
1. Who we are
Gridmark, at gridmark.dev, is operated by Studio 372 Pty Ltd, a company registered in Australia ("we", "us"). For anything about your privacy, write to [email protected].
2. What stays on your device
Gridmark saves your work in your browser's local storage, on your own device. We can't see it and it is never sent to us. That covers:
- the design you are working on, your saved presets and your locked settings;
- the preview text you place beside a mark;
- your preferences, such as light or dark mode;
- your brand kit key, if you have bought one.
Clearing your browser's site data for gridmark.dev removes all of it. Gridmark sets no cookies.
3. Share links
A share link carries the design inside the link itself, along with the preview text if you choose to include it. Nothing is stored on our servers, but anyone you give the link to can see that design.
4. Anonymous usage counts
To learn which features get used, Gridmark counts actions such as opening the app, randomizing, saving a preset or exporting a file. Each count is only:
- the name of the action;
- sometimes a short label or a number that goes with it, such as the export format or the image size;
- the country the request came from, as worked out by our host.
A count never includes your design, your text, your key, or anything that identifies you or links one visit to another. We don't store your IP address with it. No counts are sent at all if your browser has Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control turned on.
5. When you buy the brand kit
Payment is handled by Stripe through its Managed Payments service, and the brand kit is sold through Link, a Stripe company, which is the merchant of record. At checkout Stripe collects your email address, your payment details and your billing country, and anything else its checkout asks for, under its own privacy policy, which is shown there.
- What we never see. Your card number and other payment details go to Stripe only.
- What we receive. Stripe shows us the details of the order: your email address, name, country, the amount and the date. We use them only to support your purchase, handle refunds and meet our legal and tax obligations.
- Your key. After paying you are sent back to Gridmark with a key. Your browser sends it to our server once, which asks Stripe whether the payment went through. The key is then kept in your browser. We don't keep our own list of keys or buyers.
6. If you email us
If you write to us, we keep your message and email address for as long as it takes to deal with your question, and afterwards only where we need a record of it.
7. Other companies involved
Using any website means your browser talks to the companies that serve it. For Gridmark these are:
- Cloudflare hosts the site and stores the usage counts. Like any host, it processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and keep the site secure.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, including the one you pick for preview text. Your browser fetches them from Google, which receives your IP address and the name of the typeface requested.
- Stripe and Link handle payment, as described above, but only if you go to checkout.
These companies may process data outside Australia, including in the United States. We don't sell or rent personal information, we don't show advertising, and we don't share information with anyone else unless the law requires it.
8. How long things are kept
Usage counts hold nothing personal and are kept by our host for a limited period. Order records are kept by Stripe, and by us where needed, for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Emails are kept as described above.
9. Your choices and rights
- Turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser to stop usage counts.
- Clear your browser's site data to remove everything Gridmark has saved on your device.
- Ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted, by emailing [email protected]. In practice this is your order details and any emails. We will delete them unless the law requires us to keep them.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the rights given by data protection law there, including to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our use of your information, and to complain to your local regulator. In Australia, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if we don't resolve a concern.
10. Children
Gridmark is not aimed at children, and the brand kit may only be bought by someone old enough to make a purchase where they live.
11. Changes
If what Gridmark collects changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
12. Contact
